MOTHER OF 2, DIES OF FOOD POISONING IN EKET, AKWAIBOM STATE.

 Lady loses her life after eating food suspected to have been poisoned by her best friend Miss Precious Okon on Monday 15th November 2021 in Eket LGA of Akwa ibom state.

The victim, Mrs Esther Ikenna aged 34, is  a mother of 2, and hails from Mbano Local Government Area( LGA) of IMO State has been confirmed dead after she was rushed to the hospital by good Samaritans.

The incident occurred on Monday, 15th November 2015 .

Eyewitnesses who saw Esther walking along Idua road, said she became unconscious and fell off and so they rushed her to the Emmanuel Hospital, Eket, Akwaibom state, where she was eventually confirmed dead.

Speaking to the husband of the deceased, Mr Ikenna Nwodu, who disclosed that his wife, had earlier informed him of her visit to her best friend's place, who lives at no. 25  Mbok lane in Eket. 

The suspect, Miss Precious Okon was invited to the C Division of Ikot udota Police station for questioning.

Investigations were conducted, and it was confirmed that the suspect allegedly conspired with the waitress to put a substance, known in Hausa as Zaqami, in the food that was served at the restaurant where they had gone to eat.

 The waitress, Miss Udeme Akpan, who was also arrested,  have confessed to the police, to have collected 10 thousand naira earlier from the suspect  who told her the substance, was just to  make her friend sleep for hours. 

Speaking to The DPO of the C Division Ikot udota Police station, he said that the evidence gotten so far including the autopsy reports, were enough to charge the suspects to court.
